About Brian & Leigh
Q: Wait a second: you mean you guys aren't married already?
A: That's an honest mistake. Embarassingly enough, we were both operating under this very same assumption until a recent review of tax returns revealed otherwise.
Q: Seriously... how long have you two been together?
A: We met and started dating while we were in high school back in 1996 and have been together ever since, except for the periods of time when we were not.
Q: How did Brian propose?
A: Brian, Leigh and Honey went for a hike in Leigh's favorite place on earth, Holmdel Park. About fifteen minutes into the hike, Brian went down on one knee and faked an injury. When Leigh stopped to check on him, he took the ring out of his pocket and proposed.
Q: That sounds really sweet. Do you have photos or video of the proposal?
A: Sadly no, but please enjoy this video of otters holding hands, which sort of captures the spirit of the event.
The Big Day
Q: Where is the ceremony being held?
A: The ceremony will be held outdoors at the Ramsey Golf and Country Club immediately prior to the cocktail hour and reception. If the weather does not cooperate, the ceremony will move indoors, though we plan on sacrificing a small goat to appease the rain gods and prevent this eventuality.
Q: The big logistical questions: how long will it take me to get to the venue? Should I stay at the hotel? How far of a drive is it? Can you offer some guidance?
A: Google Maps says it should take 1 hour and 15 minutes to get from our house in Old Bridge to the venue. In our experience, that trip has never taken less than an hour and a half and can take as much as two hours. The typical routes from both Central NJ and NYC are notoriously trafficy, so as a rule of thumb we would add at least 60% to the Google Maps estimate for the trip from your location within the Tri-State area.
The safety of our guests is very important to us. For this reason, we encourage you to consider staying at the hotel after the reception. A bus will be available to transport you back to the hotel, and this way you will not have to worry about a potentially lengthy drive home late at night while tired and/or intoxicated.
Q: What if I have special dietary requirements?
A: Please contact us and let us know about them so we can make sure that arrangements are made.
Q: Will Honey be making an appearance at the ceremony or reception?
A: While we do not anticipate Honey participating in the wedding day festivities, please be assured that she will be there in spirit.
Miscellaneous
Q: How did you make the Save The Date puzzles?
A: A little hand-crafting and a little high-tech DIY. We printed the puzzles on adhesive paper stock and stuck them to the backing. From there, we used a device called a laser cutter to cut the puzzle pieces out. For those of you interested in such things, the puzzle images were printed using environmentally-friendly wax-based solid inks and the chipboard backing is made from 100% recycled content.
Q: How can I get in touch with you guys?
A: Contact us here.
